SUMMARY:Air Tightness Large Buildings Workshop 1
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is taught at the BELi lab in London Ontario. \nParticipants learn how to perform air tightness testing by testing our building. Guarded testing and multiple blower door tests are performed. Forensics such as fogging with pressurization are used to find air leaks. \nParticipants interested in learning about air tightness testing and those performing testing to meet voluntary green standards such as the Toronto Green Standard should take this course. \n \n*Time and date to be determined

SUMMARY:Thermal Bridging Calculation and Design Brief Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Adopted January 2025\, NECB2020 requires that overall thermal transmittances of assemblies including thermal bridging for clear wall and linear interfaces such as slab penetrations through wall assemblies must be considered. \nThis course de-mystifies the calculation of psi values\, clear wall and whole wall R values. The course is designed to help participants design to reach code compliance with respect to thermal bridging. \nIn this course Building Enclosure Labs shows participants how to use our home-grown embodied carbon calculation tool and how to construct design briefs that concisely list wall assembly components\, clear field R values\, density and embodied carbon. \nThis event will count towards 10 hours of structured learning towards OAA and PEAK continuing education units \n*Time to be determined

DESCRIPTION:Sponsored by NRCAN’s RETScreen.  This event will kick off with a presentation of case studies including BELi’s applications of NRCan’s RETScreen software for high impact early stage energy efficiency projects. \nAfter the presentation\, attendees will participate in up to two fun and educational building science themed activities.
