Every project has personality, and this was definitely true when we worked with Architectural Instinct, an architecture firm based in Toronto. They hired us to assess the masonry conditions and risks associated with an interior insulation retrofit on a double wye brick Victorian home in Toronto. The project involved sharing our scientific insights on the behaviour of the building enclosure and why issues had arisen. After field reviews and multiple consultations, we were able to guide the designer and contractor teams to low risk enclosure retrofit solutions to meet the client’s needs.
